Afigurei^iece especially should never be lined, but I always see thatthe slips I add are of the same wood as the ]:)an(;l, and that thegrain runs the same way. m What makes hands so difficult to paint is that they very seldomtake exactly the same pose a second time. Sometimes, when theyare nearly finished, the final pose is different, better perhaps, andthen everything has to be done over again.
