Researches have shown that oils con-taining ichthyol and those pressed from crude paraffinalso produce Bkin lesions. A. Glaeser Introduction. One of the must promising regions forthe development of small sr,>ld quartz mines in the nearfuture lies in the south-western and south-central part ofAlaska, beginning with the well-known Willow Creekdistrict and ending along the northern slope of the BroadPass region. A number of minis in the Willow Crockdistrict have been Bteady producers of gold for over tenyears, and all indications poinl to an increase in miningactivities in the near future. Since the beginning of eon-Btruction on the Governim nt railroad that serves thesedistricts, an active interest has been shown in the BroadPass region. Although prospects are numerous, nonehave so tar developed into producing mines; but sufficientwork has been done to show that the region contains anumber of well-mineralized areas that are worthy of ex-ploit
