GASTRO-INTESTINAL FOCI Chronic deforming arthritis is notby any means a rare condition. Inthis series a search was made througheight thousand consecutive case re-ports, with the discovery of two hun-dred and sixty cases of deformingarthritis. In the search for etiology in these260 cases, the writer was surprised tofind that only 123 patients had beensubjected to a complete gastro-intes-tinal x-ray examination. Of the casesexamined previously to six months ago,only 93 out of a total of 222 hadtheir gastro-intestinal tract exploredradiologicaily.
