Vracar, Belgrade, Serbia

Karageorge Petrovitch (3 November 1768 – 24 July, 1817) was a Serb leader of the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire, and the founder of the Serbian House of Karađorđević. Born as Đorđe (George) Petrović, because of his bellicosity and commoner background he was nicknamed "Black George", kara meaning black in Turkish (in Serbian: Црни Ђорђе, Crni Đorđe)
