Berries joined in one, which is bi-umbilicate at the top, bluish black in the dried state, and about the size of a pea. (Don's Mill.) An erect shrub. Island of Montreal, in the St. Lawrence, about Montreal ; Lake Winnipeg ; and the western parts of the state of New York. Height 3 ft. to 4 ft. Intro- duced in 1823. Flowers yellow , April and May.
