The "Charity" by Salviati, a Florentine by birth (b. 1510, d. 1563), contrasts remarkably by the boldness displayed in its motive and grouping with the more modest work of Francia, and betrays that studied imitation of Michael Angelo in which the Roman school at this period unrestrainedly indulged.
