Abingdon claims to be the oldest town in England. Here we see underneath its famous medieval stone bridge, on a fine summer morning. The Bridge was begun in 1416 and completed in 1422, using local limestone. At sunrise, the part under the main span is sometimes lit by the first rays of the sun - like here.
