Benign eye tumour, fundoscopy

Composite fundoscopy of the retina of the left eye of a male patient with a retinal capillary haemangioma, a benign (non-cancerous) tumour of the blood vessels in the retina. The retina is the light sensitive layer at the back of the eye. This haemangioma is a symptom of von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease, a rare genetic condition that leads to cysts and benign tumours forming in various parts of the body.
