Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869 – 1948) and Mohammed Ali Jinnah, during their talks with the Viceroy, November 1939. Jinnah became the first leader of Pakistan. Gandhi was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India.
