It is said that edible peas which are sold dry, Canada peas, green Scotch, etc., are now marketed at wholesale through Milwaukee in a large way. Aemsby, the bean man, is quoted as claiming that the California lima bean growers are in a combination to ad- vance prices, although the prospects are for a carry-over of 600,000 bags, January 1. Bouquet green picking in the west is about over apparently owing to snow and cold. Prices will be pretty stiff and retailers will do well to sell only at good prices. Laurel wreath- ing should sell better than usual. Poor harvesting weather, according to latest reports from Europe, will retard deliveries several weeks. Beets will be much shorter than estimated. Carrots, cabbage, parsley and radishes will be somewhat better. Peas and turnips will turn out nearly as pre- dicted earlier. Holly of fancy grade is sure to be scarce. Cold weather is reported in holly districts which it is hoped will harden the foliage, making it safe for long distance shipments. There will be some Tennessee holly, but not half a supply. Carlot prices in that sec- tion 25 cents higher than in 1908. New Tosk.—The first holly of ihe season was received last week at Vaughan's Seed Store for Thanksgiv- ing. It came from Delaware. S. P. Dernison, formerly with this concern, has accepted a position with Van Meeuwen & Tegelaar, bulb growers of Lisse, Hollan
