Emley Moor Television Mast, near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, which is the tallest free standing structure in Britain


At 1084 feet (330 metres), the tower is the tallest free-standing building in the United Kingdom, the 4th in the Europe Union, and 25th in the world. In March 1969 a previous structure collapsed due to a build up of ice. The tower was completed in 1971
