A huge multi story banner on the side of the Berlaymont building, seat of the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium, welcomes Slovakia to the Eurozone. Slovakia will abandon its currency, the koruna, on January 1, 2009, in favor of the Euro. The banner shows both sides of a 1 Euro coin with the Slovakian coat of arms on the obverse side.
