Under the pressure from people around the country, traitors of the country Cao Rulin, Zhang Zongxiang, and Lu Zongyu were dismissed. This was carried out during the May Fourth Movement. The May Fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement that grew out of student protests in Beijing on May 4, 1919.
