Marker stone & pilgrim cairn on the Pilgrim's Path from Ballybrack up the SW side of Brandon Mountain, Dingle, Co. Kerry. Looking WSW to Smerwick Harbour & the Dingle Way from near the summit. Once an ancient pagan Lughnasa festival site, the mountain (952m, 3123ft) became an important place of Christian pilgrimage associated with St Brendan (16 May), the festival of SS Peter & Paul (29 June) and Lammastide (last Sunday in July).
