Aus den geösfneten Blüten erheben sich die Pollenblätter. Eine geöffnete Anthere heftet ihren Pollen an den gefransten Narbenrand der Fruchtblüte, vallisnérie, Fleurs flottant à la surface de l'eau. Au centre, une fleur fructifère, de part et d'autre de celle-ci plusieurs fleurs de pollen à différents stades de développement, en partie encore fermées, en partie en cours d'ouverture, en partie ouvertes avec des pétales en forme de chignon rabattus. Les pétales de pollen s'élèvent des fleurs ouvertes. Une anthère ouverte fixe son pollen sur le stigmate frangé du fruit.
