The Met Office has issued an amber "be prepared warning" for wind in Scotland, Yorkshire and the Midlands today and amber warnings for snow in Scotland. A yellow warning is also in place in the Midlands, northern England, Wales and Scotland. Today will see storms across central parts, with rain for many and heavy snow on the northern hills and in Scotland.
