The towns growth hasnot been rapid like many others inthe country, where because of someindustrial interferences or some natur-al enterprise, people have come,build-ings have been erected, streets laid outand a town started in a few the other hand, Mount Union hasnot been slow. In 10 years time ourpopulation has been tripled. We havetaken on new life. Men of ? genius. Edward M. Beers, the pres^nt Mayor of Mount Union 99and enterprise have given their livesin our interest, and some of themhave passed away without the reali-zation of successful effort. There areothers today, active citizens of ourcity, who are interested in its wel-fare and who are soaring to the frontwith new ideals and motives—menwho believe in booming your hometown first of all and in lending ahand toward making it one of thebest in the State. New industrieshave come here, which today rankamong the best of their kind in thecountry. New people have settledwithin our bounds and have mean-while given individual impetus to ourprogress. Our development has notbeen ephemeral, but we believe thatit is permanent. Our natural re-sources are now being utilized.
