These same Army Air Corps flyers and many more like them went on to fly missions during D-Day and the continuing expedition to free Europe, but for many of them, their initial training was conducted at the Field Training Site, now commonly known as Savannah's Combat Readiness Training Center, Georgia Air National Guard.
