Basingstoke,Hampshire Wednesday 11th November 2015 A FAMILY from Basingstoke had to be rescued from their home after a car crashed into it during rush hour. Firefighters had to help a middle-aged mum and her young boy flee from their home after a Renault Clio ploughed into it at about The car ploughed in though the front door and into the hallway after it was believed the male driver suffered a "medical event" in Belle Vue Road. Two crews from Basingstoke fire station and Hartley Wintney fire station had to cut a 60-year old man from the car. A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said they believed the motorist had "some sort of medical event which led to him veering off the road". An ambulance took him to Basingstoke hospital where his condition is said to be "non life-threatening". It is not believed he suffered any injuries from the crash. The homeowners, who had to use a ladder to climb out of a window, were not injured in the incident. Road closures are in place between Cavalier Road and Fairthorne Rise. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. ©UKNIP
