A Fruit and Vegetable stall in Great Yarmouth Market place
Great Yarmouth Six Day Market is open from Monday to Saturday. The historical Market Place covers an area of approximately 5400 metres in the town centre and is thought to have existed prior to the granting of Great Yarmouth's Charter in 1208. The Six Day Market boasts 36 stalls of varying sizes, consisting of fruit and vegetable stalls, refreshment stalls, fresh fish stalls, book stalls, a butcher, a baker, an ice-cream stall, various fashion stalls, a doughnut stall plus several other traders and numerous chip stalls. The traditional chip stalls are reputed to serve the best chips in the resort! On Wednesdays and Saturdays the market swells in size as many other traders come into town with a huge array of additional goods, from the latest in fashion to garden accessories. This market is extended to include Fridays as well from May to September.
