Previous to that event the raisers of such crops labored under an immense disadvantage. Not only was the work tedi- ous, slow and laborious at best, but the planting was continually subjected to delays on account of dry weather. The Tiger Transplanter makes the planter absolutely independent of the weather. He sets his plants when he gets his ground ready, and it makes no difference whether the soil is dry or moist. The Tiger makes use of the human fingers for this work, which are much better fitted for the purpose than any machine parts ever conceived. The flow of water from the valve, automatically tripped at given spaces, guides the dropper as to the proper time to set the plant. The roots are in the puddle formed by the water, which is al- ways exactly at the right place. The water delivery spout is formed so that it delivers all the water against the plant roots. The puddle, or ball, is formed in the trench with the plant in the center, loose earth being forced down, around and above it.
