The bark of a small Brazilian tree (Dicypcllium caryophyllatumNees., order Laiiracea) is variously known as clove bark, clove cassia,clove cinnamon, and (in pharmacy) Cortex cassia: Ceylon cinnamon it comes into the market in compound quills-The bark is 1-2 mm. tliick, more or less flaky on the outer surface, finelystriate on the inner.
