The Saipan Sailors are participating in the ÒCaps for KidsÓ program, spearheaded by the Navy Office of Information Southwest under the direction of Lt. Cmdr. Jack Todd. The program encourages commands to provide ball caps with their respective ship, squadron, or command emblem for donation to pediatric clinics and hospitals across the nation. Along with each ball cap, children also receive an ÒHonorary SailorÓ certificate and a copy of ÒAll HandsÓ magazine, a Navy internal information periodical. The Navy brought the program aboard in 1998 and has more than 300 ships, submarines, squadrons, commands, and individual Sailors participating. Navy photo by Photographers Mate Airman Latrice Ames.
