The pendulous scape is clothed with large, boat-shaped, thin, brown bracts, which remain after the flowers have opened. The waxy, fragrant flowers are fully 6in. across. The sepals are almost as broad as long, concave : and the petals are much narrower and wavy—the colour of both being dingy yellow, with large blotches of dull purple, sometimes a single irregular blotch over two-thirds of the entire sepal. The cavity of the lip is broad and short; the horns are about lin. in leuL^th, and 2 I.
