Sewage pumping machinery part of the Crossness Pumping Station. The station was constructed as part of the redevelopment of the London sewage system. It was designed by Joseph Bazalgette who also designed the London sewage system between 1859 and 1865. The pumping station opened in 1865 and closed in the 1950's but has since been restored and is now open to the public as a tourist attraction. Photographed in Crossness, London, UK.
