The slide plates are 18 in. long andabout 6 in. wide and are planed ]4 i- deep for a distance ofabout 6 in. from the end. The table is intended to receive tworows of plates and four tools are used, two in each head. Thisreduces the distance necessary to feed the heads from sixinches to three inches, each of the two tools cutting half thedistance. The full depth is taken in one cut at the rate of 40 minute. In order to facilitate rapid checking and unloading, specialtransverse slots are cast in the top of the table, opening at thesides. The table is of the box type and provide
