The black head, dark legs, and the chestnut-red on the pectoral band are characteristic of Vanellus gregarius, whilst the position of the pectoral band, the absence of the hind toe, and the presence of a wattle are characteristic of Lohivanellus cinereus, and the black primaries of both.
