Pipa Town Beach Boardwalk

Pipa, a well known destination throughout South America, has only relatively recently come to the attention of other travellers. Backpackers and surfers discovered Pipa in the early 1980's and some loved it so much they never left. Pipa is belssed with several stunning beaches, two (Praia do Madeiro and Baia dos Golphinos where wild dolphines come to feed and frolic daily amongst swimmers, Praia dos Minas (Turtle) Beach where turtles come annually to lay their eggs, Praia do Amor (Love Beach) which is a surfers paradise and the town beach (centro) with its beach restaurants and fishing boats. The surrounding area comprises lagoons, forests and deserted beaches and is a magnet for eco tourism. Beach buggies are popular and it is possible to drive for many kilometres on the beaches in the area. Nearby Natal is one of the host cities for the forthcoming World Cup and it is hoped that many visitors will come to the area to relax after the matches.
