The emerges of the branches of this palm tree is linked with sound, for the lowest Sephirah (Malkuth - here, Malcuth, governed by Adonai) explodes outwards to demonstrate the ten Sephiroth with their rulers, in terms of the Christian hierarchies. The explosion is marked by the sound of the second Hay of the Tetragrammaton, or four-letter word of God, in Hebrew. This letter is given at the base of the leaves, but its sound (unlike the other three, the Ie, or Yod, the first Ho, or Hay, and the Va, or Wav) is not recorded on the trunk of the tree: we must assume from this that the explosion of 10 branches is nothing other than this sound of the last letter of God's name.
