It rests upon 13 concrete pillars 2 feet high, those at the corners being 12x12 inches, the others 8x8. These pillars were moulded separately and set up and plumbed on the foundation. An excavation to beloAv the frost line and to a solid bearing was made for the foundation and filled with rock, small gravel and sand, well tamped as it was placed.
