Recruits from Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, wait to receive haircuts at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 5. Recruits receive haircuts regularly during training to create uniformity and promote camaraderie. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 19.
