Lipoma (lower right) in the ileum, pill camera view. A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous), slow- growing tumour composed of fat tissue. Lipomas do not generally turn cancerous, but they can be surgically removed if their growth causes problems. In the ileum, the last part of the small intestine, the tumour may block the passage of food, which may cause abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. A pill camera is a pill-sized camera that is swallowed to image the digestive tract.
