The order is a broad, rainbow-colored ribbon, worn asa collar. It may be worn as a sash, from right to left,and is lined with purple. The jewel, suspended to thecollar, is an axe and handle of gold. BITE. of the handle are the letters J and £?; on one side ofthe handle, 7, and on the other ^; on one side ofthe blade K D I T J and JJ; and on the other, e? n ■> D N The letters on the top are the initials of the namesof Noah and Solomon; those on the handle, of Libanusand Tsidun; those on one side of the blade, ofAdoniram, Cyrus, Darius, Zerubbabel, Nehemiah, andEzra; and those on the other side, of Shem, Kham,Yapheth, Moses, Ahaliab, and Betselal. The ap?*on is white, lined and bordered with the middle a round table is embroidered, on whichare mathematical instruments, and plans unrolled. Onthe flap is a serpent with three heads. The tracing-board is a view of the mountains andforests of Lebanon, the summit of the mountain coveredwith snow; and of the Temple erected of its cedars andpines. It is in the form of an axe. In the workshop the Senior Warden presides, and isstyled Master Carpenter. He and all the; brethrenwear frocks or blouses and aprons. There is no particular alarm or battery in the work-shop.
