A Roman lead anchor 1st century BC - 1st century AD. Lead with light patina and parts of sintering. Rectangular pierced eye with tapering arms at the sides. Diving find from the Mediterranean. Length cm, weight 30 kg. Heavy anchor stock of a comparatively small trading vessel, probably cast directly around the wooden shank.
