English Morris Folk Dancers. North Yorkshire, England.

Morris dancing is a historical form of English folk dance often performed to music played on drums, pipes and accordian. The dancing follows a traditional format based on rhythmic stepping and choreographed moves by a group of dancers. The dancers usually wear costumes with white and black dominating, red sashes, bell pads on their shins, brimmed hats decorated with flowers, and they use handkerchiefs or sticks in their hands. The dancers are typically very socialable and perform in rural areas during the Summer months as entertainment outside village and town pubs.
