Descending international routeway CH-225 from the international border gateway at Paso de Perez Rosales, the Andean Lakes Route, reaches Puerto Frias, on the shore of Lago Frias. Here there is an Argentinian 'Aduana Lago Frias' customs passport office and small kiosk for the ongoing journey between Puerto Varas, Chile, and Bariloche, Argentina. The tour bus has turned round, ready for the return journey to Peulla.
