Corrimony Clava-type passage grave, Inverness, Scotland, UK, looking SE across the roughly circular cairn & central burial chamber: passage on R.

Corrimony Clava-type passage grave, Inverness, Scotland, UK, looking SE across the roughly circular cairn & central burial chamber. On the R the passage enters from the SW, on the L the large cup-marked slab once formed the capstone to the corbelled roof of the chamber. The body stain of a crouched inhumation was discovered in yellow sand underneath slabs in the centre of the chamber floor. The cairn is surrounded by a ring of 11 standing stones, six of which have been re-erected/replaced. The two composite stones W of the entrance were made from two lintels taken from the entrance passage roof before 1874. The two S of the entrance were set up after 1882. Two other stones on the SE arc were re-erected in the C20th. The cairn stands on a gravel terrace S of the River Enrick in Glen Urquhart.
