Monument to Otakar Jaroš by Czech sculptor Oskar Kozák (1958) in Mělník in Central Bohemia, Czech Republic. Otakar Jaroš was a Czech military officer in the Czechoslovak forces in the Soviet Union. He was killed in the Battle of Sokolovo in March 1943 and became the first member of a foreign army decorated with the Gold Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union, which was the highest decoration in the USSR.
