The bread often serves as a ])latc. Severaldishes of tinned copper, or of china, containing differentkinds of viands, vegetables, &c., are then placed uponthe tray, accordiuir to the conmion fashion of the coun-try, or only one dish is put on at a time, after the Turkishmode. The persons who are to partake of the rei)ast sit uponthe floor around the tray, each with his napkin upon hisknees; or, if the tray be placed near the edge of a lowdeewan, which is often done, some of the persons maysit on the deewdn and the others on the floor; but if
