Conisbrough Castle, Doncaster, South Yorkshire which boasts one of the finest examples of a Norman Keep. Claimed to be the inspiration of Sir Walter Scott's novel, Ivanhoe. The keep was extensively restored in the 1990's with the installation of two wooden floors and a wooden roof.
