The British Military Cemetery in Beer Sheva
The British Military Cemetery in Be'er Sheva was established at the end of the First World War in Beersheba, where 1,240 British Warriors were killed in the region during the First World War, during which they were captured by the Ottoman Empire, 206 of them from the Anglo-Australian and New Zealand Expeditionary Force. It is the largest British military cemetery in the State of Israel, yet the largest British military cemetery among the seven British military cemeteries established in the country is in Gaza, where about 4,000 people are buried.
