SAN ANTONIO – (April 26, 2018) The “Destroyers”, the popular music group of Navy Band Southwest from San Diego, performs during Navy Day at the Alamo. Navy Day at the Alamo is part of the annual celebration known as Fiesta San Antonio. Navy Day at the Alamo is part of the annual celebration known as Fiesta San Antonio. The “Destroyers” are visiting the city to conduct community outreach and spread Navy Awareness as part of Fiesta festivities and the city’s Tricentennial. Other activities conducted during Navy Day were performances from the “Destroyers” of Navy Band Southwest, future Sailors’ oath of enlistment, Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship check presentations by Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio, a display of Navy Corpsmen from Navy Medicine Training Support Center (NMTSC), demonstrations from Master-at-Arms Sailors and military working dogs (MWD) of Navy Technical Training Center (NTTC) Lackland, along with a Navy choir and color guard provided by Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Texas.
