During the last twenty years the animal has become well known even in Europe, and has been shown at the Central Park Menagerie, New York, and the Zoological Gardens of Philadelphia and Cincinnati. It has also been exhibited by the late Mr. P. T. Barnum. A sea- lion, though of a different variety, was first brought to the Zoological Societ/s Garden, in London, in 1866. It.
