Partitioned courtyard with climbing toys at night. Family House in Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain. Architect: elPilar Arquitectura

Family dwelling in the neighbourhood of the Satalia located between the foot of Montjuïc and Poble Sec. A corner townhouse formed along the stone wall of old road to Valencia. Some historians date the wall to Roman times, explaining that it was a road that ran by its perimeter and dodged the Montjuïc mountain. Until 1928 the site was an orchard in a neighbourhood of Barcelona. Later a couple of small houses 30m2 each were built and were occupying most of the plot with these very small and simple dwellings, making space to 5 households with patios. In 2010 the current owners, a couple, partners of elPilar architecture firm, bought the 5 homes and completely renovated them The planning regulations obliged them to respect the volumes.
