Fire in Stationshuset1923, when a fire-distressed most of the upstairs was executed a thorough modernization and expansion thereof. In connection hereby, the tracks and platforms were removed from the path hall that was converted and furnished to a spacious waiting facility. The surrounding and extension of the station's track system was made in 1927-30 before BJ's transfer of its passenger traffic to central station May 15, 1930. The name was changed to "Gothenburg Central".
