As to cut stock, the wholesale prices held up to Christmas morning and then broke, owing to the many unlocked for consignments that came in. The day closed with a lot of stock on hand. The market this week has been alive with stock of almost everything in season and job-lot sales prevailed at some of the markets. Roses are plenti- ful and $10 buys the extra fancy stock in hundred lots. Carnations, too, are coming in heavily and are offered at low prices, at $5 for the extra fancy. Violets are down to $1 per hundred again. These sold well all through Christmas week. All other stock, such as Romans, Paper Whites, valley, Eas- ter lilies and callas, is more than enough for the demand. Not so much is expected for New Year's among the trade; still, some of the large up-town floristS' say they have a considerable number of orders booked ahead for New Year's day de- livery, and
