THULE AIR BASE, Greenland – A Canadian Coast Guard ice breaker idles in North Star Bay while the cargo ship, Ocean Gladiator, prepares to depart Thule Air Base, Greenland, after delivering vital supplies as part of Operation Pacer Goose, Aug. 8, 2022. Thule AB is home to the northernmost deep-water port in the world, which is iced-in nine months of the year. The base depends on supplies delivered during the annual operation to survive the long, harsh winter season.
