The incidents of fire are particularly hazzardess in the Arctic and Antarctic. Aside for the obvious dangers from combustion, there are the additional hazzards from loss of shelter in winter. In deep winter with the associated extremely low temperatures, there are the technical difficulties of finding unfrozen water and the extreme risk to any person or persons that may become saturated with water that freezes anmost instantly.
