Schon 1702 hat Peter der Grosse an dieser Stelle eine Waffenkammer bauen lassen, die nicht nur als Waffenlager, sonder auch als Museum fuer feindliche und antike Waffen genutzt wurde. Heute beherbergt das Arsenal die Kommandantur des Kreml Wachschutzes. Entlang des Gebaeudes sind 870 Kanonen aufgestellt. GT
