The freight movement mileage inthe United States last year was 93,885,-853,634 or equivalent to carrying oneton 3,755,434 times around the globe. The passenger movement mileagewas 13,044,840,243 or equivalent to car-rying a man 521,793 times around theglobe or around 1402 times a day for ayear or 35,050,000 miles in 24 hours,which is 1,460,000 miles an hour at therate of 405 miles a second.
